Day 1: Fes – Middle Atlas Mountains – Merzouga
You’ll start your journey from Fes, and drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping at scenic locations for pictures.
You’ll also pass through Ifrane, a mountain resort town with a unique architecture and scenery that is often compared to Switzerland.
In the afternoon, you’ll reach the Erg Chebbi sand dunes, and ride a camel into the desert for a traditional Berber dinner and camping under the stars.
Day 2: Merzouga – Palm Groves and Canyon – Dades Gorges
After watching the sunrise over the dunes, you’ll continue on to Tinghir, a charming oasis town with palm groves and a canyon.
From there, you’ll drive to the Dades Gorges, where you can enjoy a scenic walk along the gorge, and visit some of the local kasbahs and Berber villages. You’ll spend the night at a hotel in the gorges.
Day 3: Dades Gorges – Amridil Kasbah – Ouarzazate
Today, you’ll drive through the “Valley of the Roses”, a region famous for its rose gardens and production of rose water.
You’ll also stop at the Skoura oasis, where you can visit the Amridil Kasbah and learn about Berber architecture.
In the afternoon, you’ll reach Ouarzazate, a city known for its film studios and impressive Kasbah Taourirt. You’ll spend the night in a hotel in Ouarzazate.
Day 4: Ouarzazate – Ait Benhaddou – Marrakech
In the morning, you’ll visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ait Benhaddou, a well-preserved fortified city that has been used as a location for many famous movies. You’ll then continue on to Marrakech, the “Red City”, and visit its bustling souks, gardens, and historic monuments such as the Koutoubia Mosque and Bahia Palace.
