Day 1: Arrival in AGADIR
Meet at the airport. AGADIR is where you’ll spend the night.
Day 2: AGADIR – MARRAKECH
Day in Marrakech, including a tour through the medina and sightseeing. Visit on your own or with a guide (fee).
Day 3: MARRAKECH – OUZOUD WATERFALLS – DADES
We’ll head to the Ouzoud waterfalls, which are rich in water, flora, monkeys, birds, and pure air. The most remarkable is the waterfall, which has a height of around 100 meters and a big backwater where we may bathe. We pass the Atlas plateau, surrounded by parched peaks over 3000m high, and proceed to Msemrir from Agoudal, one of the Atlas’ highest communities at 2360m. We’ll arrive in the Dades Gorges after a fast road descent. Dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel. The third night of an eight-day desert journey from Agadir to Marrakech.
Day 4: DADES GORGES – TODGHA GORGES – MERZOUGA (DESERT)
After breakfast, we depart for the Todra Gorges near Tinehir. The Todra Gorges are located at the end of a valley filled with palm trees and adobe communities, surrounded by mountains popular with climbers and bathed by a pure and crystalline river that flows through it. The Todra and Dades Gorges are Morocco’s most well-known and stunning. And in the afternoon, we’ll arrive to Erg Chebbi’s golden dunes. We’ll take a stroll in the afternoon to view one of the most spectacular sunsets you’ve ever seen (option 44 or camels). Dinner and stay at Haimas, deep in the desert, under a canopy of stars. Morocco at its most authentic.
Day 5: MERZOUGA – ERG CHEBBI – KHAMLIA – MERZOUGA
We will get up early to see the sunrise from the Great Dune.
After a hearty breakfast and departure to Erg Chebbi (a mobile dune field in the desert on the Algerian border).
Here you will find the biggest dune in Morocco, 250 meters high, where most of the exteriors of the movie Sahara were filmed
From here we will go to Khamlia, where we will relax and enjoy tea and a concert of Gnawa music (spiritual music). Lunch in the village and in the afternoon return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in hotel/Riad.
Day 6: MERZOUGA – RISSANI – DRAA VALLEY – OUARZAZATE
We leave the desert and make our way to Rissani. We’ll go to its market, which is one of the most gorgeous of them all.
We went out west from Rissani, taking in the scenery of southern Morocco.
It is the longest river in Morocco, stretching all the way to Mauritania. We arrive in Ouarzazate in the afternoon.
Dinner and overnight accommodations are included.
Day 7: OUARZAZATE – KASBAH OF AIT BEN HADDOU – TELOUAT – HIGH ATLAS – ESSAOUIRA
The first stop will be at the World Heritage Site Kasbah of Taourirt. The cooperative’s women will show us the various procedures that the argan fruit goes through and explain the characteristics of this oil. We’ll journey through Marrakech and overnight in Essaouira.
Day 8: ESSAOUIRA – AGADIR
We’ll spend the day at Essaouira (on Morocco’s Atlantic coast).
It is a city of wind and light, with little squares like Moulay Hassan, 18th century Portuguese fortifications, and historical relics that will excite anybody who goes through it.
Will transport you to the airport in the afternoon. The end of an 8 Days sahara desert tours from Agadir.
